Aarika Maisak, CMHC

We have all experienced dark times. Maybe there has been a time when it was difficult to get out of bed or go to work; a time when it feels like a relationship was doomed; perhaps you’ve had immense fear for someone you love; or maybe it’s looking in the mirror and realizing you don’t know who you’ve become. With these dark times, can come light and growth. I believe we are resilient, strong individuals, but sometimes it means asking for help to access our inner-strength. No one needs to be alone in the struggle!
Being able to experience individuals and families build resilience, communicate more effectively, and experience growth in their relationships and themselves is therapy is all about! It is also what I love about my profession. I have spent the past six years working with teenage girls and their families, which is a passion and specialty. I enjoy working with children, using play therapy techniques, and also adults and couples. I believe in therapy that is clairvoyant, flexible, and individualized for each client. A few therapies I use frequently include, sand tray therapy, EMDR, CBT and equine assisted psychotherapy; all of which allow clients to dig a little deeper on their journeys toward insight and health. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions or think I could be helpful in your journey.
